Abstract
The combination of mass higher education, the needs of 21st century knowledge workers, and modern digital technologies requires a re-assessment of traditional teaching strategies in universities. This presentation looks at new design methods that incorporate online and classroom learning, and strategies for deciding what is best done online and in class. The impact of emerging technologies such as MOOCs will be discussed, but the focus of the presentation is on effective teaching strategies appropriate to the needs of today's students.
