This undergraduate course provides students with a multi-faceted approach to evaluating healthcare and social issues affecting communities today. Students learn about pressing challenges, such as addiction, mental illness, and poverty, in terms of their biochemistry, pathophysiology, and epidemiology. Students are paired with various groups, individuals, and organizations to collaboratively work on a Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) project that aims to identify needs, collect information & data, and find meaningful solutions.
