Abstract
As a fourth-year student in The School for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities, I spent three months interning at a small non-profit in Toronto called Trinity Theatre. Trinity Theatre is a registered charitable organization in Toronto with a mandate to help youth develop resilience to overcome challenges and make successful transitions throughout their lives. I took a position as a communications intern and assistant during Trinity Theatre’s summer Leadership Lab for youth. I collaborated with a small group of other post-secondary communications interns to produce marketing strategies and ideas, surveys and research, social media maintenance, and publish Trinity Theatre’s first summer arts publication. Trinity finds its uniqueness as a youth organization through its foundation in theatre and overall continued appreciation and integration of the arts. This arts-based environment facilitated an experience where I developed flexible professional and soft skills while still maintaining a relevant connection to the arts.
