Abstract
As a collaborator-level science team member, I had the opportunity to observe the Phoenix Mars Mission, the first to the Martian Arctic, from selection through to the end of surface operations. In my talk I will discuss what I learned about how spacecraft missions are put together, as seen from the perspective of a scientist working inside the mission. While I will touch upon all mission phases, I will concentrate on Surface Operations and what we have learned about the Martian Arctic environment so far.
