Description
This may have been part of the final blow of the Haliburton county long track tornado. Topo maps do indicate a Fishtail Lake but not a Fishtail Creek where this event occurred. May have been a mixup. The Haliburton tornado track was indicated as passing about 5km north of Fishtail Lake and directly over Benoir Lake which has according to topo maps, about 80 cottages surrounding it. If it did pass over Benoir Lake, it likely would have been indicated by quite a bit of damage, although it may not have been as populated back in the day.
