Description

The interwoven text is from the John 4-5 and Jeremiah 31:1 and 33. The six-part window includes (from top to bottom, left to right): Christ Child (Light of World), the Holy. Family, The Agony in the Garden, and the Crucifixion. The lower scenes attempt to express the idea of Light of Christ and salvation. The bottom panels reference the idea of Christ to heal all men through his sacrifice on the cross (John 12: 33-32 (And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. He said this to show by what death He was to die). There are numerous inscriptions across the window, but the dedicatory inscription reads: TO THE GLORY OF / GOD DONATED BY / THE CONGREGATION IN / THANKSGIVING FOR THE / DEVOTED MINISTRY OF / THE REV. CANON E.L. WASSON / RECTOR 1936-1956. Signed GUSTAV WEISMAN / 1957. Church records indicate Weisman completed the window while in Williams’ studio. Location: North Nave Wall, 3rd window (west east). Lead Investigator and Photograph: C. Cody Barteet (cbarteet@uwo.ca).
