Welcome to Western Libraries 2018 Photo Contest upload page where you’ll be helping to build a photo library we can all access as we promote Western Libraries (WL) on our website, social media pages and in promotional materials.
The contest opens May 15 and closes July 19 at noon and is open to any WL employees eligible to attend our Annual Staff Session on Aug. 23. where WL staff will pick winners from the top ten images selected by our expert judge. Winners will walk away with a gift card and bragging rights for years to come.
Judging will take place between July 19 and Aug. 16.
Paul Mayne, Communications and Public Affairs will choose the top 10 images from those submitted using the following criteria:
- Technical quality of photo (photo is high-resolution, well-lit and in focus)
- Composition (subject is framed well; strong placement and angle)
- Visual interest (use of colour, originality, creativity; humour is welcome but optional)
- Adherence to contest rules and regulations – outlined in the Submission Agreement upon image upload or found in contest emails.
The top 10 photos will be printed and displayed at Western Libraries Annual Staff Session Aug. 23. Where staff will view and vote on their favourite images via secret ballot.
