Abstract

This checklist for evaluating Open Educational Resources (OER) in Ontario is a tool to assist instructors with selecting OER to include in their courses. It includes items for instructors to assess the pedagogical quality and alignment with course outcomes; production quality; breadth of perspectives; accuracy; opportunities for student engagement; commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion; licensing; and compliance with the standards in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). This checklist can be used with a range of types of OER, including videos, articles, podcasts, and websites.
