Abstract

Western University and SAUT University are trying to grow a mutually beneficial partnership. It was difficult to find students willing to participate and give their time to make this partnership happen. This was a due to the fact that the SAUT students enter exam period at about the same time that the Western Heads East (WHE) interns are looking to work and collaborate with them. Nonetheless, these two SAUT students were committed and hardworking. The partnership experience was beneficial for both the SAUT students and the WHE interns. WHE has been involved with the community probiotic yoghurt project in Tanzania for 12 years. This project aims to economically empower women through production and sale of probiotic yoghurt; this yoghurt is healthy and beneficial for all individuals but especially helpful for growing children and HIV+ patients.
