Abstract

Student well-being and mental health is an aspect of teaching and learning that has been a focus for many institutions lately. As faculty and staff work to prioritize student mental health, there needs to be sufficient attention to the well-being of course instructors and other support roles. In this session, the panelists will briefly share their academic journeys as they relate to well being and they will discuss ways to maintain and promote wellness. The panelists include faculty members from different institutions as well as an administrator who is passionate about the topic. Additionally, a discussion of how incorporating changes for students can impact instructor well-being will also be presented.

Elements of Engagement

Discussion will be arranged around identification of barriers to faculty and staff well-being in courses.

Additionally, participants will be asked to share their thoughts on an online document (anonymously if they prefer) in the form of an ABT (and, but, then...reflection document)
