Description
This is an environmental survey my supervisor and I conducted pertaining to the landscape of government engagement with Community Engaged Learning in Canadian Universities.
Community Engaged Learning (CEL) is a valuable type of experiential learning characterized by collaboration between student and community partner/ stakeholder for the creation of a mutual outcome.
Given the relations between provincial governments and their influence over publicly funded universities, compounded by a recent uptick in CEL programs across Canada, we wanted to survey government rhetoric, policy, and legislation across the country to create a picture of the interactions between provincial governments and CEL in the context of Canadian universities.
Acknowledgements
I would like to thank the excellent dedication and support of Dr. Sandra Smeltzer and PHD candidate Amala Poli.
They have been beyond helpful in helping prepare this project and helping me navigate the world of academia. I would also like to thank Dr. Basil Chiasson for guiding my early inquiries.
I would finally like to express for Western's USRI program. I have learned so much from this unique opportunity that I have had the honour of partaking in over the summer.
