Description
COVID Contemporary focuses on how COVID-19 has changed the production, distribution, and reception of art through a socioeconomic lens. The project looks to uncover how artists, galleries, and viewer's experiences have changed - potentially forever. In addition, the blog looks at the intersections of perspective in the digital world, globalization via digital sharing of art resources, accessibility to art with an increase in online galleries, and how issues of gender intersect with an increased digital presence. Finally, the posts look at how the hegemonic standards of Western art have been challenged by the pandemic and look to find how the arts community can use this period of rapid change to their advantage to create permanent, positive change.
