Whether distance or blended learning, engaging, rich media e-learning experiences are expensive. Whether those developing and delivering the courses are salaried faculty or volunteer subject matter experts, the resources required for e-learning outstrip those required for face-to-face education. By resources, I am not referring only to money but, more importantly, the effort hours required for the endeavour to be successful.
