Abstract

This document examines NATO's nuclear strategy in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, exploring the implications for global security and nuclear nonproliferation. It discusses the enduring reliance on nuclear deterrence within NATO, the challenges of transitioning toward disarmament, and the role of treaties such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). Highlighting regional perspectives, strategic policies, and the potential risks of nuclear conflict, the study emphasizes the urgent need for diplomacy, international cooperation, and renewed commitments to global disarmament efforts.
