Description
Storm began development near Huntsville ahead of a squall line. Once crossing into Haliburton county it exploded into a well-defined massive supercell. A tornado occurred as a tourist group was finishing a canopy tour at the Haliburton Forest Canopy Tour. Group was hit by the storm, although not by the tornado itself, narrowly escaping likely fatalities/major injuries. A boy did receive a broken leg from a treetop which snapped off from severe winds just after hail core passed over. EC report details storm accounts from witnesses and notes the “disturbing concerns” regarding the lack of warning for the tornado.
