Description

“Peterborough felt the full force of the storm which snapped telegraph poles and trees like matches lining/shading(?) a farmhouse drive through the heart of the town. Sections of a roof on Roland Dennes(?) feed warehouse were torn loose and carried to the backyard of his home and a chimney was flattened on George Lacheur’s(?) residence on Reed Street. Two small garages were wrecked by falling trees. Fire Chief George Gimball(?) estimated the damage at several thousand dollars. Telephone communication was interrupted for more than three hours.”
