Abstract
This protocol aims to address the revised Desired Sensation Level prescriptive algorithm for bone conduction devices (DSL BCD Version 2.0) that was released in April 2024. DSL BCD 2.0 became clinically available in the Audioscan® Verifit 2 hearing aid analyzer (2024.1.1 software) on December 20, 2024. At the time of this writing, the Verifit 2 and Verifit 1 are the only hearing aid analyzers that support verification of BCDs using a skull simulator to compare force level (FL) output with prescriptive targets. These systems are also commonly used by IHP Audiologists to verify BCDs as described in the IHP Protocol for the Provision of Amplification Version 2023.01 (Addendum 7).
