The 2013 conference, entitled “Good Laugh Bad Laugh Ugly Laugh My Laugh,” focused on the different conceptions and uses of humour in various cultures and time periods. We explored how humour, namely satire, irony, parody, and just plain mockery, has been used as effective (or ineffective) social critiques.
Conference organizers: Jaime Brenes Reyes, Aurie Zeran, and Jaime Ontiveros.
