Abstract
The development of a spectacular theatricality that may reflect the aesthetics of a neobaroque society is the outcome of a long process. As any complex system, theatricality endures thanks to its ability to adapt and being resilient. Factors like globalization, research, scientific aproach and risk management have been needed for the theatricality to reach the level we enjoy now. The 3 cases I analyze here (Cirque du Soleil, Robert Lepage and La Fura dels Baus) are good samples of the state of art of the 21st century theatricality and give us an idea where this human expression could be going in the future.
