Abstract
This case study examined the impact of physical education classes on adult activity patterns. A survey used to gather feedback from the graduates of the International School of Kenya reported a good motivational climate, enjoyment of co-ed classes, positive teacher impact and an overall positive physical education experience. The participants described a predisposition to physical activity and an overall positive experience in physical education though this did not appear to have a significant impact on their adult activity levels. These findings mirrored results in similar studies tracking physical activity levels into adulthood. However, some findings differed from the research with respect to the positive reflection on co-ed classes and team sport activities. Recommendations by the participants to foster a greater impact on adult physical activity patterns included fitness related activities that would develop autonomy in individual pursuits
