Abstract
The thesis studies the situation of grey markets in India and Canada. The research attempts to analyse how the monopoly situation created by trademark and copyright laws leads to grey markets. It weighs the benefits and detriments of grey markets from the view point of the consumers, manufacturers, middlemen and brand holders to examine if the detriments of grey markets outweigh the benefits. It traces the legal treatment of grey markets in India and Canada and deduces if India and Canada have a uniform approach towards grey markets.
