Description

One of three windows created for the Chapel as part of Collyer Family donation. Dr. Collyer was a Deputy People’s Warden in 1964 and People’s Ward in 1965. The windows were dedicated on December 8, 1969. Luke was known as a physician, thus making a reference to Dr. Collyer. The image depicts Luke providing Paul a cup of water. Paul is chained; thus, the image references the time when Paul was in prison in Rome (Acts 16:16-40). The earliest reference to Luke being in Rome is in the 2 Timothy 4:11 (Only Luke is with me [Paul]). Inscription: ST. LUKE, ST. PAUL, IN LOVING MEMORY OF DR. GERALD ROBERT COLLYER, 1904-1966. Signed: C. Wallis. Location: Chapel, south wall. Lead Investigator: C. Cody Barteet (cbarteet@uwo.ca). Photograph: C. Cody Barteet
