Abstract

Evelyn Mackin often used the quote that has been attributed to Isaac Newton in 1675: “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” On February 19, 2020 the hand therapy speciality lost a giant. Evelyn Mackin inspired the speciality to move forward in clinical excellence, international collaboration and scientific rigor. While formal discussions of her work by others will follow, her impact on this journal, or this editor, cannot be understated.
