Description

North transept arm – northwest wall; To the Glory of God / and in Loving Memory of / Simpson Hackett Graydon, / 1816-1883 And His Family (across both); “And The Word Was Made Flesh (l1) And Dwelt Among Us.” (l2): John 1:14; A widely depicted scene in Christian art. In this instance the scripture references the physical incarnation of the Holy Spirit through Christ. Across the two lights the narrative unfolds: the left light depicts two of the Shepherds while the light consists of the Holy Family: Joseph, Mary, and the Christ Child.
