Description

In memory of John Ellis, first Rector’s Warden of the parish. The three lancet window depicts (left to right): Angel with Palm Branch holding Bible, Risen Christ, and Angel with Palm Branch with a Crown and Anchor. At Center of Christ’ lancet is a lamb with a banner. Inscriptions: HOLY / HOLY / HOLY. TO /AND IN (left Lancet); FOR HE / IS RISEN/ I AM THE /RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. THE GLORY OF GOD / MEMORY OF THE LATE (center lancet); LORD GOD / ALMIGHTY. GO / JOHN ELLIS (right lancet) The lower inscription reads in order “To the Glory of God and in Memory of the Late John Ellis.” The phrasing “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty” is from Revelations 4:8; “He is Risen” is from Luke 24:6 and was phrase spoken by the angel to the women visiting Christ’s tomb on Easter morning.
