It’s no secret that students today are immersed in an increasingly media-rich environment as they go about their learning activities. In this brief, big-picture presentation, I will outline a few features of this complex media context and demonstrate not only some examples of the multiple media literacies students will need in order to navigate this world, but also why it is so imperative that we help them to achieve these skills.
