The Blood Brain Barrier is a specialized membrane that helps to protect our brains from harmful toxins and pathogens. However, it also has the added effect of keeping most medicines and drugs out as well. This animation delves into two solutions for this problem: (1) magnetic nanoparticles and (2) upconversion nanoparticles. After watching this video, you will have a strong understanding of these topics and the overall goal of the Multifunctional Nanocomposites Lab.
