Description

In this project I have developed a user friendly python program. The program is capable of fitting the raman signature from carbonaceous material. The resulting fit may be used to calculate the maximum temperature that a rock sample has been exposed to. I have chosen to submit a video for this internship. The video includes an introductory presentation to the concepts behind my program. The video also includes a live demonstration of my program.

Acknowledgements

I would like to thank Western University for this opportunity and the department of Earth Science for the facilities they provide. I would like to thank Dr. Sean Shieh for accepting me into his field of research. Sean has provided me with guidance and education throughout this summer, to which I am greatly thankful. I would like to extend an especially important acknowledgement to Dr. Tianqi Xie. Tianqi has enriched my learning experience and provided me with the feedback I needed to improve my skills and understanding of science.
