The work documented here is by the English-born glass artist, Christopher Wallis (1930-2021). Beginning his career in England during the late 40s and early 50s, Wallis immigrated to Toronto (Canada) in 1956, before settling in the London, Ontario region by 1959. From 1957 until the early 2000s Wallis would produce hundreds of windows for locations across Canada. Wallis designed and produced approximately 800 works, with the majority being in the London area. Among his more well-known commissions are for Osgoode Hall (Toronto), Christ Church (Petrolia, Ontario), St. Paul's Cathedral (London), St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church (Calgary), and his heraldic windows at Rideau Hall in Ottawa, Ontario, which were unveiled by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1992 .

Wallis garnered many awards through his career: he was elected as a fellow to the British Society of Master Glass Painters, the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada (1996), and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Wallis windows for the Christ Church (Petrolia) received an official Ontario Heritage designation in 2005 while his windows too he Life of the Virgin at St. Stephen Protomartyr Ukrainian Catholic Church and St. John the Devine Anglican Church (Arva, Ontario) were selected by Canada Post as the official Christmas Stamps for Canada in 1997.
