presumed 1930s; North transept arm – northeast wall; To the Glory of God/And In Loving Memory of/Frank E. and/Louis Leonard (across 2); “Behold The Handmaid (l1) Of The Lord” (l2): Luke 1:38; The Annunciation is a widely depicted story in the visual arts. In its simplest representations it consists of Mary (left light) approached by the Archangel Gabriel (right light) informing her that she has received God’s favor: “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” Mary provides her consistent by replying “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
