In its simplest representations it consists of Mary (left light) approached by the Archangel Gabriel (right light) informing her that she has received God’s favor: “And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus.” Mary provides her consistent by replying “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
