Abstract

This poem was written by Glenys Obasi and performed during Western's Black Student Association's Black History Month closing ceremonies.

Notes

Glenys Obasi's love for spoken word poetry began in grade 10 with the guidance of her English teacher and she competed in provincial slam poetry competitions as part of her school's team. She uses poetry as an expressive outlet to create thought-provoking poems that address societal issues of relevance and importance to her.
