Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

Welcome to the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) resource page for Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs). This page will guide you through the steps required to prepare, submit, and complete your thesis examination at Western.

Important Update: Final Thesis Publication Has Moved

Western now uses Scholaris for the final publication of theses and dissertations.
Here is how the responsibilities are divided:

  • Scholarship@Western (https://ir.lib.uwo.ca/etd/) manages most of the stages of the thesis examination process, including preliminary and post-examination submission of the thesis
  • Scholaris (https://uwo.scholaris.ca/home) hosts the final published version of your thesis for public access.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • Step 1: Students must upload their thesis to Scholarship@Western for preliminary review and examination.
  • Step 2: After your thesis is successfully defended and approved, students must upload the final version to Scholarship@Western for SGPS formatting review.
  • Step 3: After SGPS review, you will be invited to upload a final version to Scholaris for publication.
