Abstract
Dr. Shannon L. Sibbald is a jointly-appointed assistant professor in School of Health Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Family Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. As the co-director of the Laboratory of Knowledge Translation in Health, her research revolves around effective system integration. Currently, Dr. Sibbald is working alongside healthcare providers to improve the COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) care pathway. Dr. Sibbald was interviewed by Yuxuan Jiang, a first-year representative of the WURJ and recounted her academic career, gave advice for young investigators on grant applications and introduced the field of knowledge translation.
