About This Journal
Western Papers in Linguistics was created as a platform to publish both conference proceedings from our annual student-run conference (WISSLR - Western Interdisciplinary Student Symposium on Language Research) as well as the research papers produced by graduating Master’s students. We also publish special issues on an ad hoc basis. As a result of these sources, the papers collected here have a wide scope and an interdisciplinary nature. The unifying topic is language – but as approached by authors from not just linguistics, but also fields as wide-ranging as anthropology, education, psychology, journalism, and neuroscience.
Western Papers in Linguistics was started in 2015. The current co-editors-in-chief are Lauren McIntosh and Michael Iannozzi., The editorial board is run by faculty members Ileana Paul and David Heap.
