Abstract
Currently foreign mark owners are suffering from widespread trademark infringement in China. Due to the deficiencies of China’s trademark system, a lack of effective protection measures as well as some historical reasons, foreign entities have great difficulties in protecting their marks within the Chinese context. This thesis aims to find appropriate ways to protect foreign trademarks in China. In order to achieve this goal, the thesis investigates the Chinese trademark system, which reflects the country’s history culture and other national situations, and shows its problems; proposes some possible solutions to these problems and makes suggestions for foreign entities so that their marks can be protected more effectively in China.
