Abstract
Dieppe is a short opera for small chamber ensemble and six vocal soloists regarding the August 1942 Dieppe, France incident in the Second World War. It presents a fictional portrayal of the actions and thoughts of four soldiers, a soldier’s wife, and a health care worker involved in this tragic event. Prevalent in the harmonic language is an expanded version of the centric principles of Neo-Riemannian triadic transformations.
