Abstract

Dr. Brian Branfireun is a Professor of Biology at Western University, and the Canada Research Chair in Environment and Sustainability. His research primarily focuses on the movement of metal contaminants through watersheds, and their impacts on ecosystems. He currently directs a modern laboratory facility in the Biotron, which is an experimental space used to simulate future climate conditions and their impacts on biological and chemical processes in the environment. Wilson Ho, a member of the Academic Affairs Committee at WURJHNS, interviewed Dr. Branfireun to learn more about his career in Environmental Science and his advice to students.
