In a recent assignment for ENG2306G: Ways of Reading Seventeenth-Century Poetry: Donne-Milton, my students produced their own Table and Commonplace Books. Rather than simply study how Renaissance readers read, annotated, indexed and excerpted, students experienced early modern reading by emulating the very practices of this historical period. Samples from seven students' Table and Commonplace Books seven of the students are sampled and exhibited in the attached slideshow.
