Description

The article analyses the conceptualization of brevity from two different perspectives: brevity defined as part of a chain of events and brevity as a break in the chain of events that suggests an-other temporality, one that derives from the repercussions of brevity. In order to define the temporality of the repercussions of brevity, the article drawn from the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan, particularly regarding the definition of psychoanalytic interpretation as an analytical act. To differentiate the repercussions of brevity from the temporality of the duration of brevity, the article analyzes the role of internet, on one hand, as a space of communication and transmission of knowledge, but also as an obstacle to the transforming power of brevity, of which its potential remains in its capacity to raise from the massive by producing a unique effect. In this sense, both temporalities of brevity, although different, are interdependent, where brevity, as irruption, arises from the continuous that can be understood as brief elements articulated in a metonymic chain.
