The Effect of Color and Level of Concreteness on Memory
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find whether the color red increases memory effectiveness along with the level of concreteness of words. 20 words were presented for five seconds in the form of a slideshow to participants. There were 10 words in the categories of concrete and abstract. In each 10, five were red. The study found that there was not a significant effect on level of recall from the use of the color red or abstractness.
