Abstract

The article analyzes the depiction of mothers in fairy tales as depicted in the works of Angela Carter, Jeannette Winterson and Jenny Diski. The author looks into the post-modern dimensions of these authors who mock the status quo, including the idea that there is one type of mother to which all must subscribe. To further emphasize her arguments, she cited Marie Louise Von Franz's "Problems of the Feminine in Fairy Tales."
